We had the big tearful welcome complete with balloons and signs made my his nieces and nephew. Wow, what a rush! Following the airport, we met with President Bangerter for his release. It was a neat meeting to sit and listen to Kam give a brief report of his mission to the Stake President. President Bangerter had some awesome things to say as well. I must say, it was alot more spirtual than I thought it would be. Then we took him home for his favorite dinner and dessert with the whole family. Hope to see you there!

It's about time...

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_puh-c-bPmlU/SO10sL8keZI/AAAAAAAAABI/iEAr0aGOHCs/s320/DSC00751.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5254984642681141650" />
After we dropped Kameron off at the MTC, 23 months ago, we came home, washed his clothes, put them in a laundry basket, and stuck it in his room. We have had good intentions to clean up his room but we knew we had time. Well, 28 days from today, we are out of time. So Doug started hanging up his clothes and organizing his closet. 112 T-shirts later...it has finally come together. They brave the dark cold, rainy morning and a 20 mph headwind to run their hearts out. We showed up after 8+ hours of warm sleep and a full breakfast armed with coats and umbrellas. We waited and watched for Jana's sister Tracy to round the corner toward the finish line. By the time she got to us at the 25.5 mile mark, she was pretty well spent. Aubrey and Nacole couldn't help themselves so they ran out to motivate Tracy to finish strong. I think everyone there gets some sort of personal motivation just watching these runners complete the race. Don't take that wrong...many of us won't be doing it next year either! Doug, Jana and Aubrey set out from St. George to Fallon, NV for the wedding of Aubrey's best friend while we were in Virginia. Her name is Haley and her parents, Craig and Pat, are dear friends of Doug and Jana. So, knowing that, you know that we wanted to be there for the big day. It took us 7 1/2 hours to get there. We had to cross the expanses of the Nevada desert and militry test ranges via the Extra Terrestrial Highway. If there are Aliens out there, they can have that real estate! The wedding was great! There was alot of work already done and Pat had us added to her daily "To Do" list as soon as we arrived. We really enjoyed visiting with them while helping to prepare. It is nice to have such good friends and it is amazing how close we can get to them through the gospel and serving with one another. It was a long and rewarding weekend...Congratulations to Haley and Jason.

The long overdue update!

Well...we have certainly been busy! Over the labor day weekend, we went to SLC. Doug survived many hours at Swiss Days in Midway. (BTW this has very little to do with Switzerland according to our in-house expert!) On Sunday, Doug and Jana went to the conference center to watch Music and The Spoken Word. We were very impressed with the number of visitors and the program was as wonderful as expected! The following weekend, we took the boat out. As you can see from the picture, it was like being the captain of the love boat. Oh well, Doug beat up everyone pretty good pulling them on the tube. Today is p-day for our Kameron...which means he is at 7 weeks or 49 days...if you are counting. We are! It will be fun to have him home and to hear his stories.

Friends around the globe

Create your own visitor map!

The countdown is on!

As you can see from our ticker, we are counting down the days until Kameron comes home from his mission.
